Former Boxing Champ Rivera to Challenge Garcia for WBA Crown

Local boxer Jose Antonio Rivera will have a chance to regain a world title when he challenges World Boxing Association super welterweight champion Alejandro “Terra” Garcia at the DCU Center on May 6 in a match promoted by Don King Productions.

Rivera (37-4-1, 24 KOs) lost his WBA welterweight title to Luis Collazo in a very close split decision at the DCU Center on April 2. Rivera will have his hands full against Garcia (25-1, 23 KOs) from Tijuana, Mexico, who has scored 23 knockouts in his 26 professional fights.
