Boxing Info: Chris Pacy signs with Maloney Promotions
Attention – Soldier Boy Chris is called to arms by Maloney Promotions.
Despite having a sell-out show at the York Hall on Friday night when David Haye retained his European title. Frank Maloney had little time for celebrating or partying as he was on the road early on Saturday morning to meet and sign the 2004 ABA champion Chris Pacy who is the
latest edition to the growing stable of young stars at Maloney Promotions.
Pacy, aged 22 has recently left the British Army, where he was named as young sportsman of the year, and will make his professional debut on the May 30th at the York Hall on the undercard of the re-arranged Martin Power – Isaac Ward British title fight. Pacy will be trained by former professional Stephen Smith.
Pacy who holds a win over the highly talented Michael Grant in the amateurs has signed a three year deal with Frank Maloney and Maloney Promotions.
Frank Maloney believes that Pacy is a great signing and that Chris’s style is suited for the professional ranks and will earn him a big following on his way to becoming a superstar in the exciting lightweight division.
It is hoped that with Chris’ Army connections he will draw a huge following and become a firm favourite of the armed forces. He will be known as “Solider Boy Chris”.
Chris commented, “I’m excited about the changeover to the professional ranks and will dedicate my career to my friends in the armed forces who put their lives at risk to defend the liberty of others and allow us to enjoy our freedom.”
