Ricky Hatton grabbed hold of the Barclays Premiership trophy last week and immediately insisted:
“I’m glad I’m the only person in Manchester who’ll be getting their hands on it this season.”
Ricky is a good friend of Blues manager Stuart Pearce.
Hatton, who steps up a division on May 13 to take on WBA welterweight champ Luis Collazo in Boston, is shattered City have bombed in recent weeks.
He added: “After the start under Stuart I really thought this was the season City could finally push on.
“But after the West Ham defeat in the FA Cup everything came to a sudden halt.
“Stuart had the team playing really well but maybe us fans got too excited because we have under achieved for so long.
“Yet Stuart is exactly what the club needs because he doesn’t stand for any messing.
“And you never know he could be lifting the trophy for real one day…well I have to live in hope don’t I?”
