WBO World Featherweight Champion Scott Harrison will now defend his title against Gairy St. Claire replacing Martin Honorio on May 20 at the Kings Hall in Belfast. Honorio had stepped in when original mandatory challenger Joan Guzman pulled out, but due to circumstances beyond Sports Network and Jimmy Montana (Honorio’s manager) control, Honorio went missing for three days and has now decided not to take part in the fight.
As a result of the above Sports Network understand that further action may be taken by the WBO against Honorio.
St. Claire, who holds the WBO Intercontinental crown, comes in with a good record of 37 wins from 42 fights with only three losses, two draws and 17 KO’s.
His losses came against future world champions Leonard Dorin, Vivian Harris and Diego Corrales and even they could not stop the tough 31-year-old nicknamed ‘Superman’.
Ha! rrison headlines the show at the Kings Hall with Olympic Silver Medallist Amir Khan featuring as special attraction on his Belfast debut.
