Last night at the Araneta Coliseum in Manilla, Philippines, Manny Pacquiao retained his WBC International Super Featherweight title with a dominating performance over ex-super bantam world champ Oscar Larios over the course of twelve sizzling rounds. Initially, Larios traded with the Filipino icon on even terms, shaking Pacquiao in the third with a riveting shot but once the Mexican suffered a laceration above the eye, the hometown man began to pull away. Larios, 56-5-1 (36), hit the canvas in the seventh and twelfth but finished the fight on his! feet, losing a unanimous decision to Pacquiao, 42-3-2 (33), by scores of 120-106, 118-108 and 117-110.
The result simply confirms Pacquiao’s dominance in the lower weight classes and puts the wheels in motion for a third bout with Erik Morales, which could happen as soon as this November.
