Today Joe Goossen’s Los Angeles area gym plays host to the media workouts of WBC Lightweight Champion Diego Corrales, IBF Flyweight Champion Vic Darchinyan and NABA/NABO Flyweight titlist Glenn Donaire.
The occasion is part of the continued buildup for the long awaited Corrales vs. Casamayor III card, billed as Manifist Destiny and promoted by Gary Shaw Productions in association with DRL Promotions, which takes place at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on 7 October, televised live by Showtime Championship Boxing starting at 9PM ET.
There is no love lost between Corrales, 40-3 (33), and Casamayor, 33-3-1 (21), as each man vows to knock the other out in the third installment of the series between the two that currently stands at one victory each.
Heavy punching Australian flyweight Darchinyan, 26-0 (21), faces skilled Filipino Donaire, 16-2-1 (9), in the chief support bout of a bill that stands as just one of many can’t miss telecasts that Showtime has put together this year.
