Paul Spadafora returns in co-feature Chevrolet Centre in Youngstown, October 20 on PPV
Future Hall of Fame boxer “Iron” Mike Tyson kicks-off the “Mike Tyson World Tour,” a series of four-round exhibitions, on an October 20th pay-per-view event also featuring the return of Paul “The Pittsburgh Kid” Spadafora, at the Chevrolet Centre in Youngstown, Ohio.
Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs), former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, headlines against veteran Corey “T-Rex” Sanders (25-2-1, 14 KOs). Spadafora (38-0-1, 15 KOs), ex-IBF lightweight title-holder, will fight in the co-feature against an opponent to be determined.
“Mike Tyson’s World Tour” is presented by Sterling Promotions. “Mike Tyson is one of the greatest fighters who’ve ever lived,” promoter Sterling McPherson said. “We’re giving the public all over the world a chance to watch him box again. It all starts October 20 in Youngstown.”
The first leg of “Mike Tyson’s World Tour” in Youngstown will be broadcast live in North America on cable and satellite pay-per-view beginning at 10:30 PM/ET, 7:30 PM/PT. The event is being produced and distributed for Pay Per View by Queensbury Media and Integrated Sports and will be available in more than 50-million homes in North America via iN Demand, DirecTV & Dish Network in the USA, Viewer’s Choice & Bell ExpressVu in Canada. The suggested retail price for the PPV telecast is only $29.95.

Tyson has defeated many of the best heavyweights in the world since turning pro in 1985, including Larry Holmes, Michael Spinks, Tony Tucker, Tony Tubbs, Bruce Seldon, Frank Bruno, Pinklon Thomas, and “Razor” Ruddock. His upcoming opponent, Sanders, knocked out current World Boxing Council heavyweight title-holder Oleg Maskaev in the eighth round of their 2002
bout.
Spadafora, who captured the IBF lightweight title belt in 1999 by winning a 12-round decision against Israel “Pito” Cardona, made seven successful title defenses. The only blemish on his record is a 12-round draw with WBA lightweight champion Leonard Dorin in their 2003 unification fight.
Also scheduled to fight Oct. 20 is Cleveland middleweight Juan McPherson (3-0, 2 KOs), who won a silver medal in the 2003 Pan-Am Games.
Doors will open Oct. 20 at 7 PM/ET with the first bout at 8 PM/ET. All fighters and matches are subject to change.
