James “Jazza” Dickens claims he’s ready for a shot at the British Super-Bantamweight Title.
The Liverpool southpaw James Dickens, twenty-two, improved his unbeaten record to fifteen fights on Friday night (May 24th) after he beat tough Welshman Dai Davies on points.
It was a victory that saw him box the full 10 round distance for the 2nd bout in succession. And given that Bury’s Scott Quigg has vacated the Lonsdale belt, Jazza believes he’s got enough experience to step up and challenge for it.
“I’ve got another 10 rounds under my belt and now I am ready for the British title,” stated James Dickens . “I have done 10 rounds two times which proves just how fit I am so I believe it’s time to do twelve rounds.
“I believe I should be next in line. Kid Galahad was supposed to box me for the English title and did not want to, but hopefully we are able to fight for the British instead.”
Dickens added: “It would be lovely to place my name amongst the British champions who possess come from Liverpool.”
The British Boxing Board of Control’s stewards makes the decision on who’ll be nominated to box for the title in early June.
