Vusumzi Tyatyeka, 16-2 (14) takes on Hungarian Gyorgy Mizsei Jr., 12-5 (7), while All-Africa Light Flyweight champion Mzuvukile Magwaca, 11-0-1 (7), will be up against Joseph Martey, 6-1 (3), from Ghana. To defend their World Boxing Federation titles on June 8th at the famous Bay Hotel in Camps Bay, Cape Town, on a card presented by former fighter Commando Kalekuzi and his Pound-For-Pound Promotions.
Tyatyeka claimed his WBF title in June 2012 via an impressive KO of Thanduxolo Dyani. He has since scored one non-title win, and will be itching to return to the ring:
“I am ready to shed blood to keep my title. I want a world title shot in the future, and this win will be a step closer to attaining my dream. Gyorgy Mizsei Jr is in trouble”, stated Tyatyeka at a recent press conference.
Mzuvukile “Old Bones” Magwaca won the All-Africa championship by outscoring Dalisizwe Komani, from South Africa, in August. Like Tyatyeka, he has claimed an interim non-title fight while waiting impatiently for his very first title defense:
“I’ve trained really hard for this bout, and I can guarantee that this belt will stay in Cape Town”, growled the mean-looking champion.
WBF President Howard Goldberg, himself from Cape Town, went to the press conference and was impressed due to the obvious focus and determination of the two champions:
“The fighters look really ready, and I am certain we will have a great evening at the fights on June 8”, stated Goldberg.
“Mr. Kalekuzi always put on exciting boxing cards, and with these two WBF title bouts it will definitely be no different this time.”
