Warriors Conquest III Colorado Fight Card Lights Up Longmont Ghost Town

Ghost Town Promotions present Warriors Conquest III, an evening of action-packed professional boxing on Saturday, September 28 at the Longmont Athletic Club.

Said Raul Utajara of Ghost Town Promotions, “Our first two Warriors Conquest events were very successful and we’ve put together another terrific event. This card has seven excellent matchups showcasing the some of the best fighters in Colorado.”

Headlining the fight card is a welterweight clash between Longmont’s favorite son Raul “EL Chino” Carillo and battle tested veteran Terry Buterbaugh of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Sporting a record of 12-1-0 (7KO’s), Carrillo will be making the third start of his 2013 campaign following an eight round stoppage of Corey Alarcon on May 24 in Sheridan, Colorado.

On February 16, Carrillo won an eight round decision over Cesar Holguin at the Boulder County Fairgrounds in Longmont.

The 33-year-old Buterbaugh has compiled a record of 9-8-3 (4KO’s) over his five-year professional career. Winning three in a row in 2012, Buterbaugh lost a hard fought split decision to Juan Santiago on June 15 in his most recent bout that took place in Denver, Colorado.

Heavyweights will battle in the six round co-main event as San Diego’s Carlos Ibarra, 10-3-1 (5KO’s), faces Colorado Springs’ Joey Montoya, 5-2-3 (3KO’s).

Ibarra will be making his fourth straight trip to Colorado, the past three all resulting in wins. In his last start, Ibarra won a decision over Cruz Soltero on May 25 in Pueblo, Colorado.

Just 22 years old, the well-traveled Montoya will look to get back into the win column following a loss to Cody East on May 25, also in Pueblo, Colorado.

Super middleweights will see action in a scheduled six rounder as local fan favorite Victor Villareal, 10-7-2 (5KO’s), will clash with undefeated Colorado Springs prospect Maurice Louishome, 6-0-0 (4KO’s).

The 33-year-old Villareal has faced numerous undefeated prospects over his eight-year career most recently defeating Aaron Quintana over six rounds on June 15 in Denver.

Louishome returns to the ring following a five-year absence as he looks to re-start a once blossoming career.

Welterweights will be in the ring as John Grimaldo, 9-2-0 (6KO’s), of Fort Collins, Colorado faces Denver’s Brad Jackson, 15-9-1 (7KO’s).

In a six round junior middleweight clash, Jeremy Ramos, 4-1-0 (1KO) will challenge undefeated Giovanni Merceron, 3-0-0 (2KO’s) of Denver, Colorado.

Junior middleweight newcomers will battle in a scheduled four rounder with Carlos Marquez, 3-1-0 (1KO), of Longmont facing Angel Torres, 0-1-0.

Rounding out the card Longmont’s Helario Medina will make his pro debut against Detroit’s Ruben Santos, 0-2-0, in a four round featherweight tilt.

The Public Weigh-In will take place on Friday, September 27 at Las Palmeras Mexican Restaurant at 6:00 p.m., 199 S. Main Street in Longmont, phone (303) 848-0103. Fans are encouraged to come and meet their favorite fighters the night before the event.

Advance tickets priced at $45, $35 and $25 can be purchased by calling (720) 296-6176 or (303) 772-4700. The Longmont Athletic Club is located at 10 Mountain View Avenue in Longmont, Colorado. Doors will open on the night of the event at 6:00 p.m. with the first bell at 7:00 p.m.
