Four-time world boxing champion Ricky Hatton will do a live question and answer session on his Hatton Academy at this year’s Leisure Industry Week (LIW) at the NEC in Birmingham.

Running on September 24-26, LIW is the largest exhibition for leisure industry professionals in the country and annually attracts around 7,000 visitors.

Hatton Academy, which launched to huge success earlier this year, offers personal trainers and fitness instructors the opportunity to enhance their skills and teaching skills by using boxing techniques.

The Academy’s methods and course benefits will be exhibited on each day, but ‘The Hitman’ will provide a special one-off session about his career and the benefits of boxing fitness on the Live Stage at 11.30 am on Wednesday 25th.

“I’m very excited to be going to Leisure Industry Week with the Academy. I’m looking forward to meeting a few fans and fitness professionals and answering their questions,” said Hatton.

“I feel extremely proud to be able to pass on the knowledge and skills I learned in all my years as a boxer. As I’ve said before, boxing training can benefit anyone because it helps to improve fitness, strength and stamina.”

Jon Eade, Hatton Academy’s training and educational director, added: “It’s a great to be going to LIW because it’s the biggest industry show in the country. It’ll be good for the Academy to be there and I’m looking forward to the sessions and the live Q&A with Ricky.

“People can come along, try a session with us and see what they think. Hopefully many will be impressed and will want to take things further on one of our courses.”
