European cruiserweight champion David Haye is preparing hard for the biggest fight of his professional career as not only will he be defending his European title, but his defence against Italian Giacobbe Fragomeni will also be a final eliminator for the WBC cruiserweight title.
Haye, who normally trains on the South Beach in Miami, has stayed in London and has carried his training at the 3rd space gym. The reason for this change in routine is due to the first class sparing he is receiving at the gym. Number one spar partner has been former IBF cruiserweight champion Kelvin Davis from America as well as other quality names.
David has left nothing to chance as he knows he can’t afford any slip ups in a fight of such importance. He is getting closer to his dream of challenging for the WBC title and the WBC even invited him to their convention in Croatia. Unfortunately this was an invitation that David had to decline due to the closeness of the November 17 date against Fragomeni which takes place at the famous York Hall in Bethnal Green, London.
Haye has recently spoke about the fight and mention the fact that Fragomeni holds an amateur win against him “I’m looking forward to putting the record straight against Fragomeni. I’ve never forgotten that night I was ripped off, this time I won’t leave it to the judges, expect a knock-out win from me” Haye carries on “It should be a really action packed, explosive fight. Expect fireworks on November 17, that’s for sure.”
Manager and trainer Adam Booth is very pleased with the preparation of the fight and the level of sparring David has received.
Haye concludes “I see this fight similar to when Lennox Lewis fought Tyrell Biggs. Biggs had beaten Lewis and stopped him reaching glory at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. As a professional Lewis got his revenge by knocking out Biggs and I intend to do the same when I knock out Fragomeni, the man who stopped me going to the 2000 Sydney Olympics”
