Sanigar Events will make Bristol sporting history on November 8 when they will showcase a double headed British Title fight at the City Academy featuring Lee Haskins and Dean Francis.
It was announced today that Sanigar Events had won the purse bids to stage Dean Francis against Bob Ajisafe for the vacant British Light Heavyweight title.
Dean Francis will fight for the title on the same show that his stable mate Lee Haskins is defending his British championship, this is the first time in the city’s history that two British title fights will take place on the same fight card.
Francis is no stranger to fighting at championship level having held the British, Commonwealth and European titles over the last 16 years.
He is unbeaten in his three fights since returning to the ring including a win over undefeated Welsh champion Justyn Hugh in December.
Dean had this to say on the prospect of co-headlining such a big occasion;
“I am honoured to be sharing the top spot on the November 8th show with Lee Haskins, I consider Bristol my second home and we have a fantastic team here at the Bristol Boxing Gym. I am grateful to Chris (Sanigar) for battling to bring my fight to Bristol and I will be ready on the night to prove to everyone why I belong at the top level.”
Chief support to the British Championship double header will be undefeated heavyweight prospect Hughie Fury (cousin to Tyson Fury) who will be looking to extend his unbeaten run of ten contests since turning professional earlier this year.
The next generation of the Bristol Boys will also be on show including Hassan Karkardi (1-0), and debutants Dane Kelly, Dan Sarkozi and Taunton’s Krystian Nadolski.
Tickets are priced at £60 ringside, £35 unreserved and £10 Children. They are available from the Box Office on 0117 949 6699 or can be collected from the Bristol Boxing Gym www.westcountryboxing.com.
