Carruth Sweeps Aside Competition To Head Irish Amateur Boxing Firm

The Irish Amateur Boxing Association (IABA) have confirmed that Fergal Carruth has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of that organization.

Dublin-born Mr Carruth, a brother of 1992 Olympic champion Michael, was appointed following an extensive interviewing process.

The IABA Board of Directors confirmed today’s appointment.

Mr Carruth, a Company Secretary with IABA Limited, replaces Mr Don Stewart, who has retired.

Commentating on his appointment, Mr Carruth, a former Irish Intermediate lightweight champion and Irish international boxing out of the Drimnagh BC in Dublin, said he was looking forward to working with everyone involved with Irish boxing to ensure the future success of the sport in Ireland.
