Andrade, DeGuardia Relishing WBO Title Opportunity Against Martirosyan

The Final Press Conference was held today in Corpus Christi, Texas for this Saturday night's WBO Junior Middleweight Championship between top rated contenders Demetrius Andrade and Vanes Martirosyan telecast live on HBO from the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. The telecast will start at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.

Below are quotes from Andrade and Star Boxing's Joe DeGuardia:

Demetrius Andrade: "Thanks very much to HBO for this opportunity. I've waited a long time, five years in the making. There have been a few delays this year but now we're here and ready to go.

"They say Vanes hits hard but boxing ain't easy. I'm in the best shape of my life and ready to bring the belt home to Providence, Rhode Island."

Joe DeGuardia: "When we [Star Boxing and Banner Promotions] signed Demetrius five years ago, we said he'd be a World Champion. We knew that Demetrius would get his opportunity and be able to show the world who the best junior middleweight is.

"However, Demetrius has no small challenge in front of him, between him and Vanes they have a combined record of 53-0. It's a fantastic fight, the winner becomes the WBO Champion and a real player in the division and in boxing.

"We're confident that Demetrius has prepared well and is ready for this opportunity."
