Martin Ward challenges IBF Bantamweight belt holder Stuart Hall at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena on March 29.
It promises to be a titantic tussle between the two North East bruisers with 26-year-old Ward determined to come out on top.
Ward (18-2-0) said: “A lot of people say I don’t deserve the chance because people haven’t seen or heard of me – but Stuey knows this is not a gimme fight for him.
“I will give my right hand to win the fight. It’s a dream opportunity and if I have to break it on Stuey’s head in this fight – I will do just that. I have boxed six men that Stuey has faced and beaten them all except Lee Haskins, who also defeated him.
“This is a great chance for me and you don’t turn down a chance of winning a world title. I aim to do precisely that. There has been a very big queue for this title shot and I thank my lucky stars I’ve made my way through it.
“Anyone will tell you that there is a lot of luck involved in boxing if you are to get to the top. I’ve had a stroke of good fortune to get this and I will try to grab it now. I’m determined to go in there and put on a real performance.
“I want to show that I am a credible opponent, someone who deserves to be in that ring, fighting for that IBF belt.”
