Personal trainers and group exercise instructors are being urged to hurry if they want to book on to a Hatton Academy taster session with Ricky Hatton himself at this year’s BodyPower expo.
Over 55,000 people are expected to attend the three day event at the NEC in Birmingham between May 16-18 and free places with ‘The Hitman’ are being taken up extremely quickly.
Lasting 30 minutes each, the sessions will enable PTs to get a feel for what the Academy does and how its courses can be beneficial to anyone looking to take their classes to the next level.
Launched in early 2013, the programme is officially accredited by the British Boxing Board of Control and the Register of Exercise Professionals (REP). It equips participants with the skills needed to teach high-level boxing techniques as part of a fitness regimen.
“I’m very much looking forward to this year’s BodyPower and I’ve been overwhelmed by the response we’ve had for these taster sessions,” Hatton said. “I went into training boxers because I wanted to pass on some of the knowledge and skills I picked up during my career, but I equally love teaching new things to those working in the fitness industry.
“The fact that a programme I’ve developed is being used to get people fitter is something which makes me very proud.”
Jon Eade, Hatton Academy’s Training and Educational Director, added: “BodyPower is the biggest sports and fitness exhibition in the country and I think it’s the ideal place for people to come along and get a taste for what the Academy does.
“They can try a session with us and see what they think for free. Hopefully many will be impressed and will want to take things further on one of our courses.”
