Four Irish boxers are through to Sunday’s finals at the European Youth and Junior Championships in Assisi, Italy.
Cheyanne O’Neill, Amy Broadhurst and Kristina O’Hara won their semi-finals today to guarantee Ireland at least three silver medals in the Youth class.
The Athlone, Dundalk and Belfast trio decisioned Poland’s Justyna Pietas, Sweden’s Fina Westerlind and Hanna Ohota of the Ukraine this afternoon.
Irish captain Lauren Hogan was also between the ropes today, but the Offaly light-flyweight lost out on a unanimous decision to Poland’s Wiktoria Sadej.
Dublin bantamweight Shaneen Flynn won her semi-final on Thursday and will meet Russia’s Anastasia Artamonova in Sunday’s 54kg Junior Decider.
Team Ireland will be bringing home at least four silver and four bronze medals from Assisi.
