Paul Graham Looks Forward To A Sunday Afternoon First

With the start of the professional boxing season starting in September, Prospect Boxing are pleased to confirm their first show of the upcoming season, which will take place on Sunday 21st September at the Cleland Miners Club, in Lanarkshire.

Looking forward to what will be his fourth season as a promoter, Prospect owner Paul Graham gives a run down off the card “We have local boy Kenny Davidson returning to action after being out for a while, and he is taking on Scott Edgar. Scott has been with me a year and he has had two wins and his confidence is getting better with every fight.

“I picked this as my headline fight as we have a good matched fight that will deliver. Edgar will want to continue the winning streak he has worked hard for, while Davidson will not want to lose face in front of a home crowd.

“After the success of both Charlie Flynn and Josh Taylor in the Commonwealth Games, Scottish Boxing is on a bit of a high, and I know this event will give some people a chance to come along and get involved. I have spoken to a few people who are keen to come along and experience their first boxing event.

He adds “We also have JP McGuinness returning to action as well.I thought he was unlucky not to get the draw in his last fight against Daniel Cope in Sunderland, in which he took at 24 hours notice.

“Lee Gallacher will also be returning, he’s had two fights so far,in the paid ranks and has impressed me with his style. This is the first time both fighters have fought in the Cleland Club, so the atmosphere and venue will be good experience for them both. I have Rhys Pagan scheduled for September 21st, and after the win over Jenkinson I think he will looking for another strong performance.”

The card is completed with the debut of Edinburgh based Lee Redpath, who competes over four rounds.

“Lee has had a good amateur career, and is looking to come to the pro game. He trains out of the same gym as Craig McEwan and has shown he is dedicated so far, so I am looking forward to seeing him in action and see what he can do.”

Prospect Boxing Present ‘A Punch. A Pie. A Pint’ at the Cleland Miners Club on the afternoon of Sunday 21st September 2014. Tickets are priced at £30 .

The stacked card is headlined by Kenny Davidson v Scott Edgar, and also features JP McGuinness, Rhys Pagan and Lee Gallacher. The line up is complete by the professional debut of Lee Redpath.
