WBC Eurasian Pacific middleweight champion Mike Keta dedicates his title defense on October 18 in Bulqize, Albania to the worldwide battle against breast cancer.
Mike and his brother Jonny Keta, who promotes the event in their hometown, follow the initiative of the WBC and the “National Breast Cancer Foundation” in the USA, who declare October as “Breast Cancer Awareness Month”.
“Fighting all different kinds of illnesses and diseases has always been important to us”, says Jonny Keta. “We are happy and proud to follow the lead of the WBC in trying to raise the awareness for breast cancer.
‘We have to fight cancer as good as we can. So I urge all of our friends and fans around the world to do regular screenings and medical checkups.”
In addition to the battle against breast cancer campaign, Mike Keta also dedicates his first professional fight in Albania to the people in his hometown Bulqize which will host an international championship for the first time ever.
“They are building an arena just for this show”, states Jonny Keta. “Bulqize is well known for its chrome deposits and should be a rich city – but it’s not. By hosting this event in our hometown we hope to have the chance to give something back to our people and our country.”
In the co-feature up and coming female kickboxing star Mareike Michl of Germany will step into the ring. “Mareike is one of the biggest talents in Germany and has already come a long way”, adds Keta.
“She is a very strong girl, both physically and mentally. She is leaving her comfort zone in Germany to fight abroad. I am sure that she will show a great performance.
