WBO Champ Andrade “Unavailable” For December 13 Title Defense

Golden Boy Promotions and Showtime have been informed that WBO Junior Middleweight Champion Demetrius Andrade is unavailable for his scheduled world title defense against Jermell Charlo on Saturday, Dec. 13 on Showime Championship Boxing at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

At this time, it is unclear whether Andrade vs. Charlo will be rescheduled for a later date. Discussions are ongoing, and additional details will be announced as soon as they are finalized.

The Showime Championship Boxing telecast will be headlined by the welterweight showdown between Amir Khan and Devon Alexander with a co-feature pitting Interim WBA Welterweight Champion Keith Thurman against undefeated challenger Leonard Bundu.

Abner Mares and Victor Ortiz are also scheduled to appear on Dec. 13 in separate bouts.

“Royal Battle: Khan vs. Alexander,” a 12-round welterweight bout for the WBC Silver Welterweight Title, is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions in association with Khan Promotions and The Great Promotions and is sponsored by Corona Extra, AT&T and Mexico – Live It To Believe It! The event will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. and will air on Showtime at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

In the co-main event, Keith Thurman defends his WBA Interim Welterweight Title against Leonard Bundu. The Showtime Championship Boxing telecast will also be available in Spanish via secondary audio programming (SAP)
