Mohegan Sun/DRL Promotions Bring Live Boxing Action To Connecticut

The main event features knockout artists Teddy Reid and Richard Gutierrez; Co-feature begins promptly at 7:30pm

Mohegan Sun, in association with DRL Promotions, which is partly owned by boxing legend Roberto Duran, will present an exciting night of boxing action on Friday, January 26th as Teddy “Two Guns” Reid (23-8-2, 17 KO’s) from Adelphi, Maryland battles Richard Gutierrez (19-1, 12 KO’s) from Fort Lauderdale, Florida in a 10-round Welterweight bout in the Mohegan Sun Arena. The boxing excitement will be televised on ESPN2’s “Friday Night Fights” beginning at 7:30pm. The public is urged to come early for the main event.

The evening’s undercard will feature undefeated Yukeno Andino (8-0) from Puerto Rico in a 10-round Light Middleweight bout. In addition, boxing great and Hall of Famer, Roberto Duran, will be available in the Mohegan Sun Arena to greet fans and sign autographs. Andino’s opponent and other fights on the undercard will be announced at a later date.

The veteran Reid, who hails from St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, returns to Connecticut for this sensational bout against the younger Gutierrez – a native of Columbia who is coming off his first loss in 20 fights. In July 2006, Gutierrez went the distance against New York’s Joshua Clottey before losing a close majority decision. Reid boasts knockout victories against Eduardo Sanchez, Elio Ortiz and Pat Coleman in his last three victories. Gutierrez is also a knockout artist with 12 KOs in his 19 victories.
