Exciting Night Of Irish Pro/Am Boxing March 14 At MSG

On Sat. March 14, the historic first Pro/Am boxing event ever held in Madison Square Garden will take place. The evening of Irish Boxing will start with the Emerald Society Pipes and Drums leading the FDNY Bravest Boxing team into the ring to take on the the Garda Siochana Boxing Club of the Irish National Police Force in the 2015 Transatlantic Championship.

There are eight exciting bouts scheduled. The two teams have squared off twice before with each team having scored one victory. If history repeats itself, it will be one heck of a donnybrook.

As in the past, The FDNY Bravest Boxing team will donate funds raised from this event to Building Homes for Heroes. This organization builds mortgage free handicap accessible homes for our veterans returning home from the war on terror with severe injuries.

Several of these brave young men will be on hand to take in the action. The Bravest Boxing team has donated well over $100,000 to veteran related charities and will be donating an additional $20,000 to BHH’S at FDNY Head Quarters on March 5.

Immediately following the amateur portion of the program, the pro boxing will begin with the MSG debut of Gary “Spike” O’Sullivan, who hails from Cork, Ireland and has a 19-1 professional record with 12 KO’s. He is promoted by Ken Casey, who is the lead singer of platinum-selling American Celtic band, The Dropkick Murphys.

Fans will then be treated to the long awaited return to the ring of NYC Firefighter Will “Power” Rosinsky. The hard hitting light heavyweight was a four time Golden Glove Champion and has a 17-2 professional record. The only blemishes on his record are a loss to former middleweight Champion Kelly Pavlik and a disputed decision to Edwin Rodriguez.

The main event will feature world title contender Patrick” The Punisher” Hyland from Dublin, Ireland. He sports a 29-1 professional record with his only loss coming to WBA Featherweight Champ Javier Fortuna in the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. This is his first appearance in the “Mecca of Boxing” and he is eager to fight in front of his Irish American fans.

It’s going to be an exciting night of boxing for a really great cause, plus a fantastic way to kick off the St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

Tickets cost $35, $65 and $100 for ringside. They are on sale now at theateratmsg.com, ticketmaster (866)858-0008 and the MSG Box Office.
