Vasquez Jr, Lopez Make Weight For Bad Blood Showdown In Puerto Rico

Ahead of their hotly anticipated clash tonight at Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico, super featherweights Juan Manuel Lopez and Wilfredo Vasquez Jr both came in under the catchweight of 129 pounds yesterday.

Lopez, 34-5 (31), came in the lighter of the two at 128.6 lb while Vazquez, 24-6-1 (19), scaled in at the limit of 129.0 lb.

After starting his career at 30-0, ex-WBO super bantam and featherweight champion Lopez has gone 5-4 since 2011, dropping his previous two contests.

Ex-WBO super bantam titlist Vasquez has a similar career trajectory, starting out at 20-0-1, then also hitting rougher territory in 2011, going 4-6 since then.

Vasquez has also lost his previous two appearances and neither he nor Lopez has had a pro fight thus far in 2016.
