Unbeaten middleweight Tarvis Simms will face Canadian Daniel Stanisavljevic in the main event of “March Badness at the Riveredge” in Reading, PA on Saturday March 10. Tarvis, the identical twin brother of WBA light middleweight champion Travis Simms, is coming off a 23 month layoff due to legal problems with his former promoter.
The former Golden Gloves champ, who has an amateur win over WBC/WBO middleweight champ Jermain Taylor, is looking forward to resuming his career and eventually facing the division’s top names. Simms has been training with Marshall Kauffman, who is also co-promoting the Riveredge fight card.
Heavyweight prospect Travis Kauffman will meet Joe Stofle in the evening’s co-feature bout. The unbeaten Kauffman has been working as a sparring partner for former heavyweight champ Hasim Rahman in Las Vegas.
Also scheduled to fight is local favorite Jeremy Stauffer vs William Prieto in a lightweight bout. Jason Cintron fresh off a four round decision win in Lancaster, will face John Lipcomb in junior welterweight action. Lightweight propect Darnell Jiles will face Damon Antwon, and Erik Faust will face Lamar Jones in cruiserweight action.
Marshall Kauffman of King’s Promotions is promoting the fight card in conjunction with The Riveredge, an intimate venue that puts boxing fans close to all the hard-hitting action. Former heavyweight champ Hasim Rahman will be in attendance as special guest.
Doors open at 6:45pm; fights start at 7:30pm. The Riveredge is located on Route 183 North, just south of the Reading Airport. Tickets are priced at $60.00 ringside and $30.00 general admission. $5.00 additional at the door.
