IBF middle champ Arthur Abraham is looking to return to the ring late May with a voluntary defence of the title against an opponent to be announced. Abraham will then, if all goes well, take on Edison Miranda in a much anticipated rematch.
“King” Arthur won their first fight under controversial circumstances but suffered a broken jaw and has been out since September. Abraham´s return, May 26 is reportedly the working date, could also feature EBU ruler Amin Asikainen´s oft postponed mandatory defence of the belt against Sebastian Sylvester. Asikainen is currently in training camp on the island of Tenerife.
Danish supermiddle Mads Larsen, now with Sauerland Event, is likely to the ring on the undercard to Huck vs Tokarev May 5 in Bielefeld. Larsen have for various reasons been out since October 2003.
Ex-EBU welter champ Michel Trabant returns against Estonian Albert Starikov on the Valuev vs Chagaev show April 14 in Stuttgart.
Swedish welter Vatche Wartanian, last seen with Elite Box Promotion in Berlin, fights on P 3 Boxing´s show in Helsinki May 4.
WIBF fly champ Regina Halmich defends the title June 2 in Duesseldorf.
