European Middle champ Amin Asikainen fights Latvian Martins Kukuls on Friday in Helsinki, Finland in a non-title fight. Asikainen is set to take on mandatory challenger Sebastian Sylvester June 23 in Zwickau, Germany.
Veteran Thomas Hansvoll, at one time a prospect at super middle and a world title challenger at light heavy, takes on Sauerland Event´s Cuban cruiser Yoan Pablo Hernandez June 23 in Zwickau. Hansvoll drew with Dane Johny Jensen on the Kessler vs. Beyer show in his last fight.
Female junior welter Cecilia Braekhus faces Latvian Olga Bojare May 26 in Bamberg, Germany on the Arthur Abraham vs. Sebastien Demers, Huck vs. Tokarev show.
Super bantam Reidar Walstad, who challenge European champ Bernard Dunne June 23 in Dublin is currently preparing at home in Trondheim, Norway but will head to London next week for sparring with among others, Martin Power.
Win, lose or draw against Dunne, Reidar is also set to fight September 15 in Karlstadt, Sweden along with stablemate, light heavy Kim Jenssen. “It´s big for us to fight there” says Robert Walstad, Reidar´s father and manager, “as we have family in the region.”
