Halquist Signs Torres.

Brian Halquist Productions signed undefeated welterweight prospect David Torres following his seventh consecutive victory Saturday night at the Emerald Queen Casino’s Battle at the Boat Boxing series. “It was a natural thing to sign David”, said promoter Brian Halquist. “David has fought his last six fights here at the Emerald Queen, he beat

two undefeated fighters (Derrick Moon, 3-0-1, and David Hernandez, 3-0-1) back to back. He’s the crowd favorite at the casino and is a local fighter. We plan on fighting David eight more times this year”, Halquist said. “We have been talking with Brian for a year now”, said Torres’ manager, Lalo Martinez. “We’re relieved to have this behind us and look forward to a great relationship with Halquist Productions and advancing David’s career.” Torres will fight on the Battle at the Boat boxing card on Friday, February 25, against an opponent to be named. “We hope to have David fighting a main event by summer”, Halquist said. Torres joins super middleweight Kenny Ellis (32-6-2) and cruiserweight Chad Van Sickle (18-1-2) on the Halquist promotional team.
