Danish prospect Fawaz Nasir (11-1, 6 KOs) is enjoying excellent preparations ahead of his July 28 career-defining clash with undefeated Pole Lukas Wilaschek (17-0, 6 KOs) on July 28 at the Burg-Wächter Castello in Düsseldorf, Germany. The bout will be promoted by Universum Box-Promotions, and is scheduled for ten rounds at super middleweight.
Getting used to a new weight-division, this officially being his first fight as a full super middleweight, Nasir is currently sparring with EU champion Lolenga Mock (27-10-1, 12 KOs), himself a former Risum Boxing-fighter.
Mock is also preparing for an up-coming fight, as he travels to Croatia to take on local hero Stjepan Bozic in a fight for the vacant WBA Intercontinental title on August 2. While Mock helps Nasir prepare for the physical aspect of a new weightclass, Reda Zam Zam (23-1, 10 KOs) is also very beneficial with his speed and technical skills.
“Fawaz is training really hard at the moment, and things are going in the right direction. With three more weeks, and with this kind of sparring, we certainly have time to get everything right,” says trainer Brian Mathiasen. Manager Henrik Risum adds:
“If Fawaz doesn’t win this fight, which I of course am confident that he will, then it wont be because of insufficient preparations. He has every opportunity to be at his best come July 28, so it is all up to himself now. We specifically pushed for a fight with Wilaschek because we believe he is the right opponent with the right risk/reward combination. I think it will be a very good fight!”
