It´s a done deal: King Arthur Abraham defends the IBF Middleweight title against official challenger Khoren Gevor August 18 at the Max Schmeling Hall in Berlin. It´s not just a Sauerland vs Universum clash but also involves top trainers Ulli Wegner (Abraham) and Fritz Sdunek (Gevor). These two go way back to what used to be East Germany.
Cruisers Giacobbe Fragomeni and Vincenzo Rossitto clash for the vacant European Union title July 31. Site is to be determined. Also on the bill are junior middle Michele Piccirillo, middleweight Domenico Spada and junior welter Gianluca Branco.
European Union super middle champ Lolenga Mock will, according to Croatian sources, defend the title August 2 in Croatia against Stjepan Bozic.
Frenchman Jean Marc Monrose is the official challenger for European cruiser king Vincenzo Cantatore.
Network ProSieben and Spotlight Boxing have announced plans to continue their collaboration through 2009 putting on around 20 more shows. It´s good news for German boxing and Spotlight, who have fewer EuroSport dates this year as compared with 2006.

WIBF junior fly queen Julia Sahin defends her title July 28 in Duesseldorf, making it the third female title fight on the bill that is topped by Regina Halmich.
