European Boxing News: Krasniqi, Thompson Make Weight For WBO Title Eliminator

In Hamburg, German heavy Luan Krasniqi weighed in at 226 lbs / 102.5 kg for tonight’s WBO heavyweight eliminator against Tony Thompson, who came in at 112.5 kg / 248 lbs. Krasniqi looked very fit, with muscles so defined he could have entered a body building contest. It´s the last chance for Luan and he knows it. Thompson looked very relaxed, smiled and posed for the cameras.

Alexander Dimitrenko scaled 115 kg / 253 lbs while his opponent for the vacant WBO Intercontinental title, Malcolm
“Showstopper” Tann, weighed in at 105 kg / 231.5 lbs.

There are still a few hundred tickets left of the 7000 put on sale for the show at the Color Line Arena.

Ticket are also on sale for the Joe Calzaghe vs. Mikkel Kessler WBO/WBA/WBC unification bout at super middle November 3 in Cardiff. – but the fight is not yet signed although it seems like it is a mere formality.

European super bantam champ Bernard Dunne takes on mandatory challenger, Spaniard Kiko Martinez, August 25 in Dublin.

Italian veteran and ex-IBF world champ at welter, Michele Piccirillo is the mandatory challenger for European junior middle ruler Zaurbek Baysangurov.

IBF International super middle king Mouhamed Ali Ndiaye defends the title August 9 in San Mango d´Acquino against
Frenchman Medhi Bouadla.

Swedish welter Kamran Kabinejad, 1-0, is in trainingfor a comeback September 28 in Stockholm on EMA-Telstar´s show. Also on for the show is female amateur star Anna Ingman.
