After the falling out of the initial main event between, Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez and Gabe Rosado, the co-feature sought the opportunity and took it, elevating Joseph Diaz Jr vs Mercito Gesta to the main event of the night, saving the show. The blue corner contender, in Mercito Gesta. Gesta, 34-3-3 (17 KOs), went right after Diaz from the first bell. Finding himself caught on the ropes at times Diaz fought valiantly, however did not let his hands go enough for the Judges liking, unlike Gesta who would let off 3-5 punch combinations.
The rest of the undercard was filled with young upcoming prospects. Including San Diego’s Jorge Chavez, who scored an impressive 1st round KO. Hawaii’s Dalis Kalieopu secured a Unanimous Decision over a 70-fight veteran. Golden Boy new signee had an eye opening performance over previously undefeated prospect, Damoni Cato-Cain. Finally the Co-main event in Oscar Duarte and Alex Martin, Duarte started strong breaking down Chicago’s, Alex Martin ; Although Martin came with a scond wind of technical boxing, Duarte was able to do his work and get the job done early.
