TWIN RIVER PRESSER QUOTES

JOE MESI: “This is my first fight under the CES banner. Since my reinstatement I’ve had six tune-ups, which I was entitled to after 2 years off. We used to run our shows in Buffalo, but needed a promoter to help us and after talking to jut about every promoter, we signed with CES and Jimmy Burchfield. He’s a great guy who has been promoting shows in the Northeast. I’m very comfortable with him. He’s a father figure who looks after his guys. This fight I’ve dedicated to Kevin Everett. I’m considered the third sports franchise in Buffalo with the Bill and Sabres. I know a lot of players although I don’t know Kevin, who suffered a terrible injury in the first week of the season, and now he’s paralyzed. He’s back home in Houston, where I often train and I’m going to visit him the next time I’m there.

“I was No. 1 in the WBC and it’s nice to be fighting for the (WBC) money belt, money belt. Shannon, I know, has trained very hard for this fight like I have. I respect him as a fighter. He has heart. I’ve fight a lot of guys who wee more skilled than me, but a guy with more heart and determination always beats the most skilled, and that’s why I’m undefeated. Some things have been said, I think it may have been blown out of proportion, but we’ll settle things in the ring tomorrow night. Tomorrow night will tell a lot about his career, my carerr, and where our careers are going.”

SHANNON MILLER: “I’ve waited for this fight a long time. I’ve trained very hard.”

JASON ESTRADA: “I want to thank James Northey for coming to my hometown to fight me. It shows a lot of courage. A guy vacated his title rather than fight me, Josue Blocus. It shows the type person he is. We’re going to put on a great show.”

JIM NORTHEY: “I’ve been training for a while to step up in class. I had a few fights fall through. This fight popped up 1 1/2 weeks ago. This is a great opportunity.”
