November 30 in Drummondville will mark the first ever Feminine North American title fight in the history of Quebec.
Fighting in her eleventh pro fight, Danielle Bouchard, 8-1-1 (1), originally from Jonquiere, will try to capture her first belt, the WBC International Super Bantamweight title, against Maria Nunez Anchorena, 7-3 (5).
Both boxers fought last June 15 at Montreal’s Bell Centre in an entertaining bout, with Danielle Bouchard getting the nod from the judges in a unanimous decision win against Nunez Anchorena, who hails from Uruguay. Anchorena will be looking to settle the score.
Stepping in for Baha Laham, Danielle is scheduled to open the professional portion of the InterBox Evening at 9:30 PM. Victor Lupo and Benoit Gaudet are set to close out the night.
In a proposed bout that heralded much attention, super featherweight boxers Baha Laham (6-0-0 1 K.-O.) and David Gomez (14-1-0 13 K.-O.) were very close to agreeing to fight on November 30.
“Both sides were unable to agree to a reasonable catch weight,” said InterBox Director of Operations Mr. Stephan Larouche.
“A fight of this magnitude must be disputed at the right conditions. Unfortunately, we were unable to get all the elements together in such short time. But this fight is merely postponed. Baha will be hard at work at the gym on his physical fitness preparation until the right time comes.”
