It looks as if Mzonke Fana, a lightly regarded South African fighter will provide the next challenge for Marco Antonio Barrera to conquer. Barrera will defend his WBC super featherweight title against Fana on the 9th of April at site yet to be determined. Fana has been beaten twice in mainly international company, once to England’s Dean Pithie. Fana won his chance to compete against Barrera in a WBC super featherweight title eliminator against Randy Suico, a fight in which Fana was put down twice but still managed to eke out a split decision victory. The fight is likely to be a marking time exercise for Barrera as he waist for higher profile opposition to become available.
