Lucky Eagle Boxing: Boose KO’s Monaco On Fight Night 58

In headline event on Saturday night at Lucky Eagle Casino in Rochester, WA, heavyweight Eric Boose of Puyallup, WA defeated Louis Monaco of Denver, CO by TKO in :02 seconds of the fifth round.

Boose landed a devastating right hook under Monaco’s chin toward the end of the fourth but Monaco was saved by the bell, pulling himself up from the canvas and stumbling back to his corner as the round came to an end.

When the bell tolled to begin the fifth round, Monaco looked lost and confused. The physician at ringside asked to examine Monaco, 16-36-1 (12), and determined he was unable to continue. The fight was declared a TKO in the favor of Boose, 13-2-1 (8).

Light middleweight Ben Aragon of Billings, MT defeated Jacob Ruffin of Post Falls, ID in a six round unanimous decision. Ruffin, 1-9-2 (0), showed tremendous heart and won the fifth round, but it was too little too late as Aragon owned the rest of the fight. Light heayweight Luis Lopez of Othello, WA defeated heavyweight Lyle Johnson of Clarkston, WA by KO in 1:35 of the second round. For most of the fight, Lopez had been baffled, beaten and cornered. Johnson had the crowd on it’s feet screaming with excitement…”finish him off”.

Just as Johnson raised his powerful hand to deliver the final blow, the unthinkable happened; Lopez leapt from the ropes and delivered an improbable uppercut that stopped Johnson, 3-2 (1), cold.
