At today’s official weigh-in for tomorrow’s big show in Bilbao, Spain, Konstantin Airich presented himself in great shape and very self-confident regarding his fight against “Brixton Bomber” Danny Williams.
“No matter what we’ve talking about in the last couple of days”, said Airich. “I feel that I’m ready to take on Danny. When I first saw him I knew: This is the guy I will knock out! And even if he doesn’t go down I promise all my fans to show a heck of a fight!”
At 222 lb. Airich was lighter than his British opponent who weighed in at 267 lb.
The contenders for the EBA Middleweight Championship Mahir Oral, 159 lb., and Alexander Sipos, 160 lb., had no problems making weight.
The same goes for WBC International Cruiserweight Champion Herbie Hide at 199.5 lb. and his challenger Ehinomen Ehikhamenor at 199 lb., who was late for the weigh-in as he had just been flying in to Bilbao from overseas and took a nap when the procedure started.
“I hope he shows up on time tomorrow so I can put him right back to sleep!,” said Hide.
