Riath Hamed, business manager for his brother Naseem Hamed is said to have been advising current amateur star Amir Khan. It is well known that British promoter Frank Warren has gone to some lengths to try to persuade Khan to turn professional under his Sports Network banner, so far, to no avail. Khan, who won Olympic silver as The U.K.’s only representative in the 2004

games, has resumed his amateur career despite lucrative offers and almost unprecedented adoration from the British boxing public. Warren was quick to warn the young lightweight fighter away from the advice of Riath Hamed in his British tabloid column. Will Amir Khan turn professional after receiving a rough time in the amateurs? Will the allure of big money finally prove too much, and if he does turn professional, will it be with the Hamed’s or Frank Warren?
