Germany's Arthur Abraham made a spectacular American debut last night at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Florida as the IBF Middleweight Champion ruthlessly belted out arch-rival Edison Miranda in the fourth round during a non-title rematch at 166 pounds.

The always aggressive Miranda pressed the argument early behind the jab and went to the body as the middleweight champion covered up on the ropes.

By the third frame Abraham started to pick his spots between Miranda's big punches and scored with heavy right hands that tested the resolve of the chinny Colombian banger.

The undeterred Miranda kept up the pressure in the fourth until he was drilled flush by an Abraham left hook and sent down hard to the canvas. Miranda beat the count but was then returned to the floor by a huge right hand.

Miranda showed a big heart in getting up again but was quickly hammered out for good at 1:13 of the fourth by another left hook from Abraham.

The German improves to 27-0 (22) with the victory and puts to rest the vicious rivalry that started with the initial fight between the two in the summer of 2006. Miranda loses for the second time in his last four contests to drop to 30-3 (26).

Also enjoying a win on the bill was former IBF Light Middle Champion Raul Marquez, 41-3-1 (29), who used his long experience and pure toughness to break down the focus of the previously undefeated prospect Giovanni Lorenzo, 26-1 (18), at middleweight.

Lorenzo started off well, using his height and reach advantages to batter and cut the oncoming veteran southpaw. But the 36 year old Marquez managed to draw the younger man into the trenches in the fourth round and from that point on held the initiative, grinding out a blue collar performance to take the bout on a 114-113 unanimous decision on all three scorecards.

The contest was an IBF title eliminator and Marquez earns the right to face that organization's reigning champion at middleweight, Arthur Abraham.
