WBC Boxing News: Don Jose Sulaiman Salutes Japan’s Toshiaki Nishioka

From the office of Jose Sulaiman:

Toshiaki Nishioka of Japan has joined a very select group.

The super bantamweight finally won the WBC championship on his fifth attempt. He joined German Torres and Marcos Villasana, both of whom lost in four attempts to win a world title before being successful in the fifth.

The WBC congratulates Nishioka, who is a true warrior that has proven that adversity can be overcome with dedication, passion, and hard work. Nishioka suffered a torn Achilles tendon and at one point, many thought his boxing career was finished.

Nishioka has confirmed that he will attend the WBC’s annual convention to be held in Chengdu, China, where many boxer heroes will be present, including George Foreman, John Stracey, Azumah Nelson, Veeraphol Nakhonluang, Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales, Oleydong Sittsanerchai, and Fighting Harada, among others.
