Aside from world super flyweight kingpin Vic Darchinyan’s masterful dismantling of Jorge Arce in Anaheim and Andre Ward’s victory over Henry Buchanan in Lemoore, there were two good bills in the states and we kick off this report at the Activity Center in Maywood, CA where welterweight Jesus Soto Karass continued his impressive run of victories on Friday evening.

The 26 year old Los Angeles resident originally from Los Mochis, Mexico, dominated opponent Carson Jones over ten rounds, canvassing the Oklahoma native twice in the third before losing a point for rabbit-punching.

Soto Karass now has an unbeaten streak of 15 bouts after suffering three consecutive losses in 2004-5 and improves to 23-3-3 (16), while Jones sees his own five bout win streak go down in flames, falling to 18-7-1 (10).

On the undercard, featherweight prospect Miguel Angle Garcia, 15-0 (12), stayed perfect with a fifth round stoppage of Lucian Gonzalez, 9-5-1 (1), while bantam Michael Franco, 14-0 (9), stopped Antonio Maria Conchero Diaz, 9-10 (6), in the first.

Also on the bill, light welter Omar Chavez, 14-0-1 (10), posted a four round majority decision over Rodolfo Armenta, 6-1 (4).

At the Wicomico Civic Centre in Salisbury, MD on Friday, light heavyweight Yusef Mack, 27-2-2 (16), defeated former world title challenger Chris Henry, 23-2 (18), by split decision for the NABA and NABF titles.

Middleweight Fernando Guerrero, 13-0 (11), won an eight rounder by UD against Gabriel Rosado, 10-3 (6), while light welter Harrison Cuello, 18-8-2 (14), stopped Daniel Gonzalez, 9-21-2 (3), in the fifth frame of a scheduled six.
