Last night at the Gimnasio Municipal Number 1 in Puerto Madryn, Argentina, light welterweight Martin Antonio Coggi, 22-2-1 (12), retained his South American title for the first time with a second round KO of Brazil’s Juciel Lima Nascimento, 20-9-1 (14).

On the undercard, Yesica Yolanda Bopp, 8-0 (3), retained her Interim WBA Female Light Flyweight title with a wide ten round points decision against Mexico’s Jessica Chavez, 6-2-2 (1).
Speaking of Women’s boxing, there was a good card on Saturday at Jean Pierre Sports Complex in Port-of-Spain in Trindad and Tobago as Ria Ramnarine, 11-5 (2), stopped Nancy Bonilla, 3-6 (1), in the eighth frame for the Interim WIBA Light Flyweight crown and super bantam Lisa Brown, 16-3-3 (5), stopped Maribel Santana, 10-7-1 (4), in the third for the Interim WIBA trophy.
On Friday, at Polideportivo Centenario in Los Mochis, Mexico, Daniel Ruiz, 15-1 (11), won the vacant Mexican Pacific Coast Featherweight title with a third round finishing of Rodolfo Garay, 20-15-1 (11).
