Undefeated lightweight prospect Bayan “The Mongolian Mongoose” Jargal scored a crushing third round knockout of Saginaw, Michigan’s Reggie “Two Guns” Nash on Saturday night at the Sportsplex in Winchester, Virginia.
Ending the scheduled eight rounder with a right hand, left hook combination at the 1:09 mark of the third stanza, Jargal improved his record to 11-0-1 (8).
“Bayan was in great shape and is so heavy handed that he can knockout his opposition at any point in the fight,” said promoter Terry Lane, President of Let’s Get It On Promotions.
“The crowd was thrilled by his performance and we’re hoping to have him fight again in April or early May.
“He’s ready for a TV fight right now, whether it’s something on ESPN or Shobox, that’s something we’re going to pursue. Fight fans will be thrilled to see Jargal in action.”
The knockout of Nash was Jargal’s second start in 2009, the first resulting in a first round stoppage of Walberto Gaxiola on January 23 in Las Vegas.
Continued Lane, “We want Bayan to fight often this year as that will be important for his continued success.”
Jargal is managed by J.D. Brown, who has managed former world champions William Joppy and DeMarcus Corley and also worked as an advisor for Sugar Ray Leonard.
