Vitali Klitschko’s heavyweight title defense against Hasim Rahman probably will be rescheduled for June 18 following an injury to the boxing champion. Klitschko pulled a thigh muscle while training Friday, forcing the bout scheduled April 30 at Madison Square Garden to be postponed. Klitschko said the injury would only set him back a few weeks, and promoters said they were working on the possible June 18 date for the fight. Rahman’s promoter, Don King, offered a fight between WBA champion John Ruiz and James Toney for the April 30 date, but so far has had no takers. Rahman held the WBC title for a brief time after knocking out Lennox Lewis. Lewis knocked him in the rematch, but Rahman is considered the strongest challenger yet for Klitschko, who beat Danny Williams in his most recent fight in December.
