Yesterday at the famous Gallagher’s Steakhouse in New York City, DiBella Entertainment held a final press conference to promote “Continents Collide” the Super Middleweight Championship fight between undefeated WBC titlist Carl Froch 24-0 (19) and Jermain Taylor 28-2-1 (17).

The bout will be televised live on Showtime this Saturday, April 25 at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, CT.

“It’s good to be back in the limelight, almost in the number one position”, said Taylor . “I’ve been here before and it’s a great feeling.

“In my last fight with Jeff Lacy I don’t think I saw any of you reporters there, only a couple of cameras and they were throw aways. I missed this, I missed being in the number one position and I have to go through Carl Froch to get it.”

Taylor spoke about his two losses to Kelly Pavlik, “In those last couple fights with Kelly, I’m not going to make excuses but I wasn’t doing what I was suppose to be do. Now that I’m back winning, I’m starting to feel good.”

“I was in the same place when I fought Hopkins, people asked if I could do it”, reflected Taylor. “I’m back, I’m not playing with this boy, I know he comes to fight and he gives 110%, so am I. I come to take care of business.”

“It is my pleasure to be here in America, I was in Canada for a couple of weeks and now have been here for the last week training”, said Froch. “We’ve had a good camp in England. The sparring has been very intense we have had some good sparring partners over, took in plenty of spots to emulate Jermain Taylor.”

Although very respectful of his challenger, Froch was all business and made it clear who is the super middleweight champion. “Jermain Taylor seems very confident, talking about being back and No. 1 spot again and he is talking the talk that he is confident that he is going to become WBC Super Middleweight Champion. But make no mistake that’s my belt. I am the Super Middleweight Champion of the World.”

Froch continued, “I am undefeated, 24-0 and I’ve knocked out 19 of them. The only men that have gone the distance with me are hardcore warriors who can take a punch. Everyone else hasn’t been able to stay in there with me.”

“Calzaghe didn’t want to fight me”, said Froch. “When I became the champion it was vacant and you don’t get as much respect that way for some reason. But I am the WBC Super Middleweight Champion and come Sunday morning Jermain Taylor will be disappointed that he doesn’t have the belt. I’m showing the Americans what ‘The Cobra’ is made of.”
