TKO Boxing: Lightweight Prospect Terrance Crawford In Action This Saturday

Sensational lightweight prospect Terrance Crawford returns to action against Miguel Delgado this Saturday night, May 2, for an evening of world class professional boxing at The Cambria County War Memorial Arena in Johnstown, PA.

The Crawford vs. Delgado scheduled four rounder is part of an action packed seven bout card presented by Chet Koerner’s TKO Boxing Promotions and Team Taylor Made Boxing in association with Rezk Medical Supply.

Following an outstanding amateur career that included winning the 2006 Police Athletic League National Championship, the 21 year old Crawford, a native of Omaha, NE, has quickly emerged as one of the most talked about prospects in professional boxing since turning pro a year ago.

In his last outing, Crawford scored a crunching first round knockout of Lucas Rodas on March 21 in Cincinnati.

Said Chet Koerner about Crawford, “Terrance has outstanding skills for such a young fighter. He’s very strong and has incredibly fast hands which give him a huge advantage over many young lightweight prospects.

“He looked terrific against Rodas and the fans in Western Pennsylvania are in for a real treat to see this future world champion.”

The Crawford vs. Delgado bout is scheduled for four rounds. A veteran of fourteen fights, the 29 year old Delgado of Dallas, TX, has only been stopped once.

Said Crawford about his preparation, “I haven’t seen Delgado fight but I’m confident in my ability to adapt to anything in the ring. I’ve been training hard for the last two months since my last fight and I’m ready to put on a great show.

“Ideally, I’d like to fight every month this year, I’m staying busy in the gym and want to stay busy in the ring” said Crawford.

The fight card is headlined by an outstanding cruiserweight battle featuring the fighting pride of Western Pennsylvania, Andres Taylor and Philadelphia slugger Simon Carr.

Also featured on the card will be junior middleweight contender, Anthony Thompson, who will square off against Washington State veteran Luis “EL Lobo” Lopez.

Starting at $22, tickets can be purchased in advance at The Cambria County War Memorial Arena Box Office or by phone at 800-243-8499. They are also on sale locally at Giant Eagle Super Markets (Richland and West End) in Johnstown .

Doors on the evening of the event will open at 6:00pm with the first bell at 7:30pm. The Cambria County War Memorial Arena is located at 326 Napoleon Street in Johnstown.
