Boxing Update: Haye Injured, Pulls Out Of Klitschko Fight

The fight between IBF, WBO, and IBO Heavyweight Champion Wladimir Klitschko and David Haye is cancelled. The reason is an injury of David Haye. Further details are not known yet.

Klitschko Management was informed about the cancelation on late Wednesday afternoon. Nevertheless, the fight night on June 20th at the Veltins-Arena in Schalke is supposed to take place.

“I am very disappointed that the fight got cancelled,” said Klitschko. “I’ve been in training camp for weeks. I am in top condition and I was really looking forward to fight night. I don’t want to disappoint the fans in Schalke and I am willing to fight a different opponent as well”.

“We will do everything to realize this fight night,” confirmed Bernd Bönte, Managing Director of the Klitschko Management Group.

“After having recovered from the first shock, we will work on finding a top opponent”.

Further information follows in due time.
