KZ Boxing: Campillo Victory Changed To Majority Decision

There was a scoring error in last Saturday night’s WBA light heavyweight title fight between defending champion Gabrial Campillo and challenger Beibut Shumenov in Astana, Kazakhstan.

An error on the master scoresheet was discovered Sunday. Judge Glenn Feldman scored round four for Shumenov, 10-9, but it had been accidentally written in as 10-9 for Campillo.

Feldman’s final tally was revised from 114-112 for Campillo to 113-113. The cards for judges John Coyle (114-113) and Pasquale Procopio (115-111), both in favor of Campillo, remained the same.

The mistake was discovered on Sunday.
