Sebastian Fundora vs Ermal Hadribeaj: Fight Preview
Sebastian Fundora headlines a Las Vegas card against unbeaten Ermal Hadribeaj, with Brandon Figueroa’s featherweight title defence against Tomoki Kameda in support. There are six bouts listed on the card, including a couple of unbeaten match-ups lower down that could be worth keeping an eye on.
Main Event: Sebastian Fundora vs Ermal Hadribeaj
Sebastian Fundora (24-1-1) faces Ermal Hadribeaj (23-0-1) at super welterweight. Fundora’s WBC title is on the line, with the champion taking on an unbeaten challenger who has a draw on his record.
Hadribeaj arrives without a defeat, while Fundora has already been through the sort of fights that come with being a champion. That makes this a proper test of where the challenger stands. For Fundora, the job is to keep hold of the belt and make the step up in opposition count. I’m most interested in whether Hadribeaj can make the champion work for it over the course of the fight.
Co-Main Event: Brandon Figueroa vs Tomoki Kameda
Brandon Figueroa (27-2-1) puts his WBA featherweight title on the line against Tomoki Kameda (42-5-0). Kameda has the more extensive record, but Figueroa is the champion and this is a chance to make his mark in the division. It’s a strong co-feature, with a belt at stake and two experienced fighters in the ring.
Undercard
Armando Resendiz (16-3-0) meets Koen Mazoudier (16-4-1) at super middleweight. Their records are closely matched, so this one has the look of a useful test for both men.
Middleweights Jaime Enrique Osuna Diaz (11-0-0) and Cristian Cangelosi (13-0-1) are both unbeaten, with Cangelosi carrying one draw. One of those records will take its first loss unless they share the points.
Marco Romero (15-0-0) faces Braulio Matias Ferreira (8-3-0) at super middleweight. Romero puts his unbeaten record on the line against an opponent with more defeats than wins.
Featherweights David Garcia (7-0-0) and Angel Carrillo (5-0-1) round out the listed card. Both are unbeaten, though Carrillo has a draw on his record.
Fundora-Hadribeaj leads the bill, but Figueroa-Kameda gives the show a second title fight, and the undercard has several unbeaten records to put under pressure. The event is listed for DAZN and TNT in the USA, under the Nevada Athletic Commission.
