Star Boxing: Shea vs. Shiver For Interim WBA Title December 3

Bronx’s fan-favorite, “The Real Million Dollar Baby” Maureen Shea (13-2, 7KO) has been added to Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing upcoming “Hustler Boxing” card Thursday, December 3 at the Manhattan Center.

Shea will square off against Jenna “Cowgirl” Shiver (9-4-1, 2KO) for the Interim WBA Female Super Bantamweight Championship of the World. The bout was made possible when Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin pulled out of his scheduled bout due to his appendix suddenly rupturing and having to be removed.

The 28-year-old Shea is best known for serving as the lead sparring partner and mentor for Hillary Swank, as Swank prepared for her role in the Academy Award winning movie Million Dollar Baby.

“It was unfortunate that Quillin had to pull off the show, but luckily we were able to replace him with what is sure to be an all-action affair in a World Championship match-up,” stated Joe DeGuardia, CEO and founder of Star Boxing. “Being from the nearby Bronx, Maureen has a huge following when she fights in New York and we expect her to put on a great show for all those in attendance as she has done time and time again.”

“I’m finally fighting at 122-the weight I should be fighting. My strength and conditioning coach has always said I am a natural 122 weight so now I’m there. I’m very comfortable at that weight and ready to pursue the title. The energy in NY is so incredible- after the Yankees won the World-Series, it motivated me and I am ready to be a World Champion as well. I am looking forward to this title challenge with my team.”

This VIP evening of boxing and entertainment, hosted by various celebrities, will feature special entertainment and top boxing. Larry Flynt’s Hustler Honeys will serve as ring card girls, hostesses at all VIP dinner tables and will be entertaining late into the evening at the official after-fight-party to be held at the Hustler Club 641 W. 51st street in Manhattan.

Hustler Boxing is being presented by Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing and Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club. A complete list of the undercard will be announced shortly.
